THE PLOT:
It is 1900 and Freak Shows are all the rage. They keep wanting to one up each other and find the real thing. Angus has found
the real thing, an old man with a real life Mermaid. But when the old man refuses to sell, Angus breaks in and steals the
mermaid, killing the old man in the proscess.
During the long boat trip back home, the Mermaid starts acting strange, she uses her powers to alter the course to some
unknown part on the map. The question is this, is this a Mermaid or the Queen of the Lair?
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Okay, this is nowhere near a buried treasure. There are some serious character flaws in this one. Out of all the Creature
Feature remakes out there, I like this the least. But it's not all bad, I liked the fact the Mermaid was topless like the
legend says instead of scales from the neck down or wearing a shell bikini top. That's just stupid. But I wish they could
have done better. They mixed up Mermaids with Sirens and they are two different sea creatures. But all and all I give it..6

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I couldn't agree more, first of all the tail is all wrong. The stories I heard the tail looks nothing like that. Plus, I never
heard of Sirens diving into the sea and becoming Mermids. That's just idiotic. Next, what the hell is a Lair? Other then something
bad guy uses in hide in. I liked the topless angel, that was the only thing they got right. But I am not convinced that Mermaids
(if they exist) are out to kill Sailors, that's the Siren game not mermaids. If you want to see a better movie about mermaids
that get the tail right and don't make them into killer monsters, then check out MERMAIDS, and SPLASH. I give SHE-CREATURE...4

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (Her final transformation near the end was way cool.)
+ TOPLESS MERMAID (This is more realistic then other movies about Mermaids.)
+ STORY (Story for the most part was pretty good.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES)
- MIX UP (Sirens are a different kind of sea monster.)
- CHARACTERS (There were some major character issues.)
- LAIR (What the hell is a Lair?)
- MERMAID TAIL (Looked nothing like a Mermaid's tail.)
- RESEARCH (I was always told to do research on you movie script.)
AND FINALLY...
- NOT FOR EVERYONE (If you don't like this kind of story, like Mermaids or get easily offended by topless underwater babes,
then this isn't for you.)
