THE PLOT:
All over the world a series of strange and bizarre dissparences are happening and they all have one thing in common, closets.
All the victims were last seen in their closet.
The reason, a strange creature from another dimention is using closets to kill. This creature is hideous and merciless
to anyone unlucky enough to look in their closet.
A Professor is out to communicate with the creature and capture it alive for further study, but when the truth gets out,
the army wants to blow it's f***ing head off, both of them.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
This is a clever little comedy, if you listen carefully you can hear qoates from other monster movies, most from the 1950s'
but some from the 1930s'. Placing those lines in this original context is genius, why wasn't it release in 1983? What the
hell was wrong with them, can't they tell genius when they see it? I give it...9 STARS
VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd, this is a cool fun movie. But it does get corny at points and I feel that hardcore monster movie fans
might find it a little silly at points. But still it's one of Troma's best. Allot better then the incredibly stupid stuff
they've been coming out with lately. All Troma flicks have a thin line of the silly, but the thin layer is covering the sickening
point of goofy and gross. Wise up and make another movie like this. I give it....8 STARS
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ FUNNY FREAKIN' FLICK (So why did it take five years to get it to theaters?)
+ COOL MONSTRR (Alittle on the strange side, but cool nevertheless.)
+ STORY (The old "Mommy, there's a monster in the closet" childhood nightmare works.)
+ LINES FROM OTHER MOVIES (Being a writer I can tell you it isn't easy to slip lines in from other movies and make it
sound they aren't plugging another movie.)
+ COMPARED TO CURRENT PROJECTS (Compared to the new stuff Tromas peddling, this is bloody Oscar Martial.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES)
- FIVE YEARS (It must have been given the PG before it was shelved, but why the hell was it shelved for five years?)
- SILLY (VOLTRON found it silly at points.)
AND FINALLY...
- NOT FOR EVERYONE (Hardcore monster movie fans may not like the tongue in cheek humor of this one.)
